Japan's FTC Approves Microsoft's Acquisition of Activision Blizzard

Japan's Fair Trade Commission has cleared Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, stating that it would not substantially harm competition. The European Union and the UK's Competition and Markets Authority are also expected to approve the deal without any structural remedies. Microsoft has signed several 10-year contracts with cloud companies to bring all of its games, including Activision Blizzard's, on other cloud platforms. The Federal Trade Commission in the US is the only remaining regulator that could potentially delay the deal.
