Apple relocates multiple AI teams to Austin, prompting employee relocations or layoffs

Apple has reportedly informed 121 employees in San Diego that they must relocate to Austin or face being laid off by the end of February. The employees, part of the Data Operations Annotations team working on Siri, have until April 26 to decide. This move comes after Apple's return-to-office mandate and recent restructuring in its corporate retail division. Despite cooling demand for its iPhone in China, Apple is set to launch its Apple's Vision Pro headset in February.
