Earn $15,000 a Year by Proving Elite In-Game Mastery

The University of Silicon Valley, via Icy Veins, is launching the Max Achievement Scholarship to reward players who demonstrate extraordinary mastery in demanding in-game feats across 50+ titles, offering up to $15,000 per year with two tiers: Legendary (up to $5,000 per school term) and Mastery (up to $2,500 per term). Qualifiers include a mix of platform-specific milestones (e.g., PS Platinum trophies, Xbox Gamerscore with high completion rates, Steam 100% achievements in five hard games) and legendary challenges like completing all Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom map/shrine content. Players can submit unlisted games with documentation as long as the achievement demonstrates mastery. The program will award 10–15 scholarships in its inaugural year and requires a 500–750 word essay on what gaming mastery teaches about learning, persistence, or problem-solving. The initiative emphasizes real-world skills—persistence, systems thinking, and creative problem-solving—gleaned from digital achievements.
