Age of Empires veteran Earnest Yuen exits Microsoft after 31-year run

Earnest Yuen, a long-time Microsoft gaming veteran who helped revive the Age of Empires franchise and contributed to more than 50 games, announced his retirement after 31 years at Microsoft on LinkedIn. He thanked colleagues across Xbox and World’s Edge, reflected on the industry’s evolution since the Windows 95 era, and said his next chapter will focus on family, new adventures, and gaming with fewer production meetings.
