Amazon Games Announces New Lord of the Rings MMO
TL;DR
Amazon is developing a massively multiplayer online game based on the Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit in partnership with Embracer Group. The game is in the early stages of development at Amazon Games Orange County and will be released for PCs and consoles. The game is unrelated to the upcoming The Rings of Power TV series, set in Middle-earth's Second Age. Amazon has had mixed success in game development but is refocusing its gaming strategy and expanding its Orange County studio.
