Barraskewda: Not a Meta Pick in Pokémon GO, Here’s Why

Barraskewda, the Water-type evolution of Arrokuda added during Ultra Unlock: Water Festival 2026, has high Attack but very low bulk and a disappointing moveset, making it a weak choice for both PvE raids and PvP in Pokémon GO. Its best Charged Move options (Close Combat or Crunch) don’t compensate for Aqua Jet’s low power, so it’s outclassed by Kyogre and other Water attackers in raids, and struggles in Great/Ultra/Master Leagues due to fragile defenses. IV spreads exist for different leagues, but even with them Barraskewda remains a poor investment; it’s mainly a collector’s piece and Dex entry for now. If a stronger Water attack arrives later, it could improve, but for now trainers should not power it up and should focus resources on more reliable picks, while still catching Arrokuda for completion.
