FTC cites exclusivity of Starfield and Redfall as evidence against Xbox's Activision buyout.

The FTC is set to argue that Xbox's decision to make Bethesda titles like Starfield and Redfall exclusive is "powerful evidence of incentive to foreclosure" in its attempt to temporarily halt Microsoft's $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard. The regulator claims that Microsoft may attempt to take Activision Blizzard games away from PlayStation as well. The case is slightly different from the pending appeal against the UK's Competition and Markets Authority, as the latter has blocked the deal on the basis of cloud gaming concerns. PlayStation's Jim Ryan is among the high-profile witnesses called to comment.
