Fyreslayers merge into Khazalite Holds, shifting focus to elite assault units

Key points

• Fyreslayers are now part of the Khazalite Holds battletome, functioning as aggressive assault troops alongside Kromdron units.
• Players can still field a pure Fyreslayers army using the 'Fyrd of Fyrepeak' Army of Renown or by selecting only Fyreslayers units.
• Units such as Vulkite Berzerkers, Auric Runemaster, and Battlesmith are moving to Warhammer Legends and will be removed from sale.
• Retired units remain legal in competitive events for 12 months after the new book's release.
• The new Fyreslayers roster includes Auric Runefather, Auric Runeson, Auric Runesmiter, Auric Flamekeeper, Grimhold Exile, Vulkyn Flameseekers, Auric Hearthguard, Hearthguard Berzerkers, and the new Ormyr and Ashtongue.

Background

The Khazalite Holds were first revealed in September 2026 as a new duardin faction led by Hjulda Drakkblud. The Fyreslayers were teased as part of this expansion, with the current update confirming their specific integration and the resulting changes to their unit roster.

Why it matters

This update significantly impacts Fyreslayers players by removing key infantry units like Vulkite Berzerkers, forcing a pivot toward elite units like Hearthguard and Flameseekers. It also provides a clear transition path for existing armies, allowing players to either expand into the broader Khazalite Holds or maintain a pure Fyreslayers force through specific Army of Renown options.

What to watch

Pre-orders for the new Khazalite Holds range are expected to open soon. Players should monitor Warhammer Community for specific release dates and pricing for the new battletome and associated miniatures.
