TL;DR

Nathan Fillion's character, Cayde-6, will be returning in Destiny 2's upcoming expansion, The Final Shape, after being killed off in a previous expansion. The teaser trailer shows him conversing with Ikora Rey, but it's unclear how he's back or if it's permanent. Destiny 2's co-op shooter gameplay and strong storytelling in the campaign have earned it an 8/10 rating from IGN.
