Naughty Dog Scraps The Last of Us 2 Multiplayer Game

Naughty Dog has announced the cancellation of its planned multiplayer game, The Last of Us Online, citing the need to focus on future single-player narrative games. The studio had been in pre-production on the game since the release of The Last of Us Part 2 in 2020 but realized the massive scope of the project would require dedicating all their resources to post-launch content for years to come. Despite the cancellation, Naughty Dog teased a brand-new single-player game in the works and plans to release The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered for PlayStation 5 in January.
