Nintendo is shutting down the 3DS and Wii U eShops on March 27, meaning users will no longer be able to purchase games from either platform. However, users can still redownload games, receive software updates, and play online. Any remaining funds in the eShops can be used towards Switch purchases in the Nintendo eShop. YouTuber Jirard "The Completionist" Khalil spent $22,791 on all Wii U and 3DS games in the eShop and will donate a portion of the games to organizations like the Video Game History Foundation. Some recommended games to buy before they vanish from the official digital storefronts include Kirby Planet Robobot, Fire Emblem Fates, and Pocket Card Jockey.
