Nintendo Stands Firm on Switch Price, Hints at Successor Release

Nintendo has no plans to reduce the price of the Switch console despite being on sale for seven years, citing inflation and foreign exchange rates. However, the company did not rule out a potential price rise. Nintendo's president also discussed the $10 US price increase for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom compared to launch title Zelda: Breath of the Wild, stating that it does not indicate a general increase in the price of their software. The company expects Switch console sales to decrease this year, but still plans for the console to last at least another year, with no plans for a successor before April 2024.
