Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick believes that excessive government regulation is the greatest threat to innovation in the gaming industry. He also predicts that mobile gaming will continue to dominate the market, with China likely to produce the best AI and machine learning programmers in the future. Kotick sees a role for high-end dedicated game consoles for premium game experiences, but believes that virtual reality-based gaming will create entirely new immersive experiences for gamers.
