Star Citizen crosses $1B in funding with a $5,000 concept ship reveal

Star Citizen has surpassed $1 billion in crowdfunding, though the main game remains in alpha. In celebration, Cloud Imperium Games announced the Anvil Odin, a $5,000 concept capital ship that is not yet release-ready and represents the final vehicle stretch goal from the original crowdfunding. A fan has already purchased it. The project spans the sandbox MMO Star Citizen and the single-player Squadron 42, with a free trial running through May 27 offering an RSI Aurora MK11 and other ships to rent; no release date for the main game has been confirmed.
