Stephen King's Alan Wake quote sold for just $1 to game developer Remedy.
TL;DR
Remedy boss Sam Lake revealed that the Stephen King quote used in the opening of the original Alan Wake game only cost the studio $1, as it was a gift from the author himself. The quote sets the tone for the horror game and is a strong influence on the series. The upcoming sequel, Alan Wake 2, is set to be released on October 17 and is expected to be more of a survival horror game.
