The Future of Nier: A Sequel on the Horizon
TL;DR
Square Enix producer Yosuke Saito has confirmed that a new entry in the Nier series will be released as long as Nier chief Yoko Taro is alive, but it won't be happening anytime soon. Saito and Taro are currently working on a non-Nier related project that they hope to reveal in 2024. Despite the success of Nier: Automata, which sold 7.5 million copies, Taro believes repeating that level of success would be "completely impossible," while Saito acknowledges it won't be "easy."
