The latest patch update for The Witcher 3, version 4.02, delivers the best console performance yet, with improved frame-rates in performance mode on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Novigrad City still struggles to lock to 60fps on PS5, but Xbox Series X sees an outright improvement in every area, including Novigrad. The ray tracing mode still suffers sub-30fps drops on PS5, but Series X retains its lead in this mode. Overall, the game is in very good shape, and it remains to be seen if CD Projekt RED will continue to make improvements.
