LA Homes Illegally Turned into Airbnbs by Renters, Lawsuits Claim

Nikeeta Sriram is embroiled in a legal battle to reclaim her Mid-Wilshire home in Los Angeles after her tenant, Nicholas Jarzabek, allegedly turned it into an illegal Airbnb rental. Despite Jarzabek's initial appearance as a responsible tenant, Sriram discovered he was subletting the property without her consent, causing significant property damage and financial loss. Sriram has filed an eviction lawsuit and received a writ of possession, but faces delays due to a backlog in the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department. Airbnb has since removed the illegal listings, but Sriram continues to face challenges in regaining control of her home.
