A longtime Nintendo collector uncovers 97 pristine, unopened Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt cartridges tucked inside a late-1993 production box. The box, tied to a metal-recovery shipment that once threatened to melt the games for gold, turns out to contain an undocumented multilingual variant with a revised manual text and a 9340 date code. PSA grading confirmed authenticity, with five cartridges earning PSA 10s and several others near that mark; several units will be auctioned (Goldin Auctions on Aug 12) while the rest may go to charity, and full manual scans plus cartridge photos will be posted online soon.
