• M5 MacBook Air configurations across 13-inch and 15-inch models saw a uniform $200 discount, starting at $1,099.
• AirPods Pro 3 were priced at $179, described by 9to5Mac as one of the best deals ever, while AirPods Max 2 fell to $429.
• Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 models hit all-time lows, with the Ultra 4 starting at $700.
• The sale included new 2026 models like the Magic Keyboard and iPhone 18 Pro cases, alongside non-Apple tech like Roborock robots and Sony headphones.

Background

This event followed the October 6-7 Prime Big Deal Days, which also featured record Apple discounts. The fall sale extended these deals, particularly for newer M6 and M5 Max hardware, serving as an early alternative to Black Friday.

How outlets are covering it

9to5Mac emphasized the breadth of Apple hardware discounts, highlighting all-time lows for Mac mini and MacBook Air. Variety focused specifically on the AirPods Max 2, noting the $120 discount as a rare opportunity for a new model. New York Magazine highlighted non-Apple deals like Sony headphones and Roborock vacuums, framing the event as a broad tech sale rather than just an Apple-centric event.

Why it matters

The sale provided significant savings on Apple’s latest silicon-based devices, making high-end hardware more accessible. It also demonstrated Amazon’s strategy of using fall sales to drive early holiday purchases, competing with traditional Black Friday timelines.

What to watch

Consumers may monitor for Black Friday deals, though some prices may not drop further. Retailers may adjust inventory based on Prime Day sales performance, potentially affecting availability of discounted items.
