Azure Copilot Migration Agent: AI-Driven Planning for Faster Cloud Migrations

Microsoft unveiled the public preview of the Azure Copilot Migration Agent, an AI-powered assistant in the Azure Migrate dashboard that accelerates migration planning by agentless VMware discovery (with the Azure Migrate Collector for offline inventory), auto-generating landing zones via Terraform or Bicep and sequencing wave plans, and handing app modernization tasks to development teams through GitHub Copilot. The agent provides planning enhancements but does not perform actual migrations; end-to-end execution remains in Azure Migrate, with VMware workloads currently the most fully supported. Tenant enablement is required, and pricing has not been announced.
