Google is planning to upgrade certain ChromeOS devices to the new Chromebook X or "Chromebook Plus" branding, which signifies better hardware and exclusive features. The company is enforcing hardware requirements such as modern Intel or AMD processors and a minimum amount of RAM. A leaked code change revealed a list of current and future devices that may receive the upgrade, including models from Asus, HP, and Lenovo. The retail prices suggest that Google is targeting the $350-800 range for these upgraded Chromebooks. However, it is noted that Google's own flagship Chromebooks, such as the Pixelbook and Pixel Slate, will not be receiving the Chromebook Plus benefits.
