Dolby Vision 2 Lands on 2026 Hisense TVs with Dual-Tier HDR and Motion Features

Dolby Vision 2 is rolling out starting with 2026 Hisense models (UX, UR9, UR8, U7) with TCL and Philips adding support later; it introduces two tiers (Max and standard), adds features like Authentic Motion, local tone mapping, and brightness/intensity controls, and requires new hardware (MediaTek Pentonic 800). Older Dolby Vision TVs can’t adopt the new features, while content must be encoded with Dolby Vision 2 metadata. HDR10+ Advanced is a rival, and rollout is underway with broader adoption expected after studios adopt the metadata (targeting August–September for updates).
