TL;DR

Apple's upcoming iOS 17 will expand the green bubble problem beyond iMessage to phone calls, with a new Contact Poster feature that displays a personalized contact card on the recipient's screen. The feature is not expected to be offered cross-platform, further dividing iPhone and Android users. Additionally, iOS 17 will introduce new tools for group chats and the ability to use any normal emoji as a sticker, potentially creating even more space between iPhone and Android users.
