OpenAI's Symphony Defines a SPEC for Autonomous Coding Agent Orchestration

OpenAI released Symphony as a SPEC.md that outlines an agent orchestrator designed to manage multiple coding agents via project-management artifacts (issues, tasks, milestones). It continuously watches and restarts agents, assigns tasks, and converts work into deliverables while keeping humans responsible for reviewing outputs; the reference implementation is in Elixir and OpenAI positions Symphony as a framework rather than a product, meant for organizations to adapt to their repositories.
