TL;DR

Sony's new Power Saver mode for PS5 reduces energy consumption by up to 50% for certain games, but it is not indicative of a forthcoming PlayStation handheld device. The mode is part of Sony's eco-friendly initiatives and helps developers optimize games for lower power use, though actual power levels for a portable device would need to be much lower to be feasible as a handheld. Despite rumors and speculation, there is no official confirmation of a new PlayStation handheld or PS6, though Sony continues to explore future hardware innovations.
