"Windows 10 Introduces New 'Windows Backup' App"

Microsoft has surprised Windows 10 users by releasing the new Windows Backup app, initially thought to be exclusive to Windows 11. The app allows users to back up folders, apps, credentials, and settings in OneDrive. However, the current build cannot restore from a OneDrive backup during the onboarding experience, leading to speculation that the app is intended to facilitate migration to Windows 11. Other changes in the update include improved location detection, new account-related notifications, and various fixes. Despite reaching its end of life in two years, Microsoft continues to support Windows 10 with security fixes and small improvements.
