"Yuzu Emulator Creators Settle with Nintendo for $2.4M"

The makers of the Switch emulator Yuzu have agreed to pay $2.4 million to settle a lawsuit filed by Nintendo, and have ceased all activities related to the emulator. They admitted that the emulator was primarily designed to circumvent Nintendo's copy protection and play Switch games using unauthorized copies of cryptographic keys. The settlement comes after Nintendo argued that the vast majority of Yuzu users were using it to play downloaded pirated games. The Yuzu developers have also shut down their code repositories, Patreon accounts, Discord servers, and websites, stating that their intention was never to promote piracy and hope their actions will contribute to ending piracy of all creators' works.
