Tragic Bus Crash Claims Lives of 18 Migrants in Mexico

At least 16 migrants from Venezuela and Haiti were killed and 29 others injured in a bus crash in southern Mexico. The crash occurred in the town of Tepelmeme, near the border with the state of Puebla. The cause of the accident is under investigation. This incident adds to a series of migrant deaths in Mexico as migrants and smugglers resort to risky forms of transportation due to migration agents often raiding regular buses. Last week, 10 Cuban migrants died in a separate truck crash, and two Central American migrants died while attempting to board a moving train near the Texas border.
