Google's AI chatbot Bard receives harsh criticism from employees.

Bonita Stewart, a board partner at Google's AI-focused VC firm Gradient, asked Bard, Google's first public version of a generative AI chatbot, about the value of corporate diversity and was impressed with its response. Stewart stressed the importance of building a diverse workforce early on in the development of AI technology to mitigate the risks of bias. She also highlighted the need to design AI products for generational differences as they become more mainstream. The discussion of hiring comes at a time when the tech industry has been laying off workers at a pace even faster than after the dotcom bubble burst of the early 2000s.
