Azerbaijan's Military Offensive Targets Nagorno-Karabakh Region

Azerbaijan has launched "anti-terrorist activities" in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, aiming to restore constitutional order and drive out Armenian military formations. Azerbaijan's defense ministry stated its intention to disarm Armenian forces and neutralize their military infrastructure, while assuring that civilians can leave through humanitarian corridors. Armenia claims stability on its own border with Azerbaijan. The region, internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan but with an ethnic Armenian majority, broke away in the 1990s and has been a source of conflict.
