Survivor's Perspective: Inside Gaza's Tunnels of Terror

An 85-year-old Israeli grandmother, Yocheved Lifshitz, who was abducted and later freed by Hamas terrorists, has described her harrowing experience of being held captive in the underground tunnels of Gaza. Lifshitz and another woman were taken hostage by Hamas militants, who invaded their kibbutz and beat people indiscriminately. Lifshitz was transported on a motorcycle, beaten, and taken through a maze of tunnels. The tunnels, described as a "spider's web," are stuffy, narrow, and labyrinthine, making it difficult for Israeli forces to combat Hamas underground. Lifshitz acknowledged that the captors took care of the hostages, providing food, medical supervision, and sanitary conditions. However, she emphasized that they refused to engage in political discussions. Lifshitz criticized the Israeli government for allegedly failing to act on intelligence prior to the attack. While Lifshitz was released, her husband and over 200 others remain hostages.
