Brian Laundrie allegedly called his parents 13 days before Gabby Petito was reported missing, stating that she was "gone" and he needed a lawyer, according to court filings. Petito's parents claim that Laundrie's parents and their attorney knew she was dead but misled the public with messages of hope. The complaint also alleges that Laundrie sent a text from Petito's phone to deceive her mother into thinking she was still alive. Laundrie disappeared while being a person of interest in the case and was later found dead.
