Eviction threats tied to Minneapolis mass shooting; suspect dies

A downtown Minneapolis mass shooting suspect, Carlton Neal Johnson II, who died in the attack, was facing eviction over threats and publicly displaying a firearm to building security. A witness described him grabbing a woman and saying he would “kill my baby mama” moments before the incident. Johnson had prior incidents including openly displaying a firearm in June and an earlier assault; a Sept. 11 court hearing was scheduled. Police have not disclosed a motive.
