Florida Dentist Convicted in Murder-for-Hire Plot Against Law Professor

A Florida dentist, Charles Adelson, has been found guilty of hiring a hitman to kill his former brother-in-law, Daniel Markel, following a bitter custody battle. Adelson was convicted on charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and solicitation to commit murder. The link between Adelson and the killers was his ex-girlfriend, Katherine Magbanua, who admitted her friends killed Markel and demanded over $300,000 from Adelson. Prosecutors argued that Adelson willingly paid Magbanua and continued to have a relationship with her after the murder. Magbanua and the hitman were also convicted of first-degree murder.
