Kenyan Cult Leader's Land Yields Dozens of Starvation Deaths

Kenyan police have discovered at least 46 bodies in shallow unmarked graves on land owned by a cult leader who allegedly instructed his followers to starve themselves to death in order to go to heaven. The entire 800-acre forest has been sealed off and declared a crime scene. The pastor accused of leading the cult, Paul Makenzi, was arrested on April 14. Kenya is a highly religious country, with approximately 85.5% of Kenyans identifying as Christian and 11% as Muslim, according to the U.S. State Department.
