The district attorney of Philadelphia stated that the recent mass shooting in the city was "obviously planned," but the investigation into other factors, such as the suspect's mental health and social media history, could take months. The shooter, Kimbrady Carriker, allegedly told police that he carried out the shooting to "clean up the neighborhood." Investigators are examining Carriker's social media posts about guns and the Second Amendment, as well as his possible mental health issues. The suspect had an arsenal of weapons, including an AR-style rifle and a handgun, and was found wearing a bulletproof vest and ski mask. Carriker has been charged with murder, attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment, and weapons charges. The shooting in Philadelphia is one of at least 350 mass shootings in the US so far this year.
