Tragic Shooting Claims Life of Belmont University Student in Nashville Park
TL;DR
Jillian Ludwig, an 18-year-old Belmont University student, died after being struck by a stray bullet while walking in a Nashville park. The suspect, Shaquille Taylor, had previously been released for incompetence to stand trial in a separate shooting. The incident has sparked discussions about the need for easier involuntary commitment for individuals with severe mental illness and the limitation of access to firearms for those deemed a threat to the community.
