Rescue Efforts Intensify for Trapped Indian Workers in Uttarakhand Tunnel

After being trapped for over a week in a collapsed tunnel in northern India, 41 construction workers are finally receiving hot meals through a newly installed steel pipe, as rescuers shift their strategy to dig vertically towards them. The workers have been surviving on dry food and receiving oxygen through separate pipes. Rescue efforts have been challenging due to the mountainous terrain and a broken drilling machine. Authorities are now creating an access road to the top of the hill to dig vertically, while also continuing horizontal digging from the tunnel's mouth. The workers have been trapped since November 12th, and rescue teams will need to dig 338 feet downward to reach them.
