Lawsuit Targets West Point's Affirmative Action Admissions

Students For Fair Admissions, the conservative group that previously won a Supreme Court ban on affirmative action in higher education, is now suing the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, seeking to eliminate all racial considerations in its admission program. The military has long argued that a diverse officer corps is crucial for national security, but the group claims that West Point has abandoned merit-based admissions in favor of a system focused on race. The lawsuit was filed in Federal District Court in New York and may eventually reach the Supreme Court.
