"Actors and Studios Clash Over AI in SAG-AFTRA Negotiations"

Talks between SAG-AFTRA and major studios have stalled over various issues, including the union's demand for 2% of streaming show revenue, pay increases, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in replicating background actors. The parties also disagree on self-taped auditions, pension and health contributions, Actors Access fees, option periods for TV actors, representation of background actors outside of Los Angeles and New York, and the coverage of performance-capture acting. The strike is the first since 1980, with actors picketing for fair compensation and working conditions.
