Former Manager Accuses Country Star Jimmie Allen of Sexual Assault and Abuse

Country star Jimmie Allen is being sued by his former manager, known as "Jane Doe", for sexual assault, including rape and harassment, over an 18-month period. The lawsuit also accuses Allen of using his power and influence to recruit and entice the plaintiff to private locations. Allen denies the allegations, claiming he had a consensual sexual relationship with the plaintiff, who he says only hired a lawyer to ask for money after their relationship ended. The plaintiff's attorney denies this and says the complaint was filed to protect her client. Allen rose to prominence on American Idol in 2011 and became the first Black solo performer to win new male artist of the year at the 2021 Country Music Association awards.
