RBG Award Gala Cancelled Amid Controversy Over Honorees
TL;DR
A gala to honor Elon Musk, Rupert Murdoch, and others with the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Leadership Award has been canceled after objections from the late justice's family. The family expressed concerns over the choice of honorees, stating that the event had strayed from its original mission and values. The controversy led to the cancellation of the event, which was organized independently of Ginsburg's survivors and estate. The foundation behind the awards cited a desire to avoid fueling controversy as the reason for the cancellation.
