SAG-AFTRA Grants Waivers for Anne Hathaway and Matthew McConaughey Films, Allows 39 Independent Projects to Proceed

SAG-AFTRA has granted waivers to an initial batch of independent film projects, allowing them to continue or start filming despite the ongoing actors' strike. Among the projects are "Mother Mary" starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, "The Rivals of Amziah King" starring Matthew McConaughey, and "Death of a Unicorn" starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega. The guild is prioritizing projects that are already in production or about to start. The interim agreement includes an 11 percent raise to the minimum salary and the expectation that producers will agree to new contract terms once the strike ends.
