'Moana 2' Breaks Box Office Records with $386M Global Debut

"Moana 2" has achieved the second-biggest global box office debut of 2024, earning $386 million worldwide, following "Deadpool & Wolverine." The film set a new Thanksgiving record in North America with $221 million over five days, surpassing "Frozen II." Internationally, it topped charts in most markets except China. Originally planned as a Disney+ series, the film features returning voices Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson. Meanwhile, "Wicked" and "Gladiator II" also performed well at the box office.
