"Microsoft's Acquisition of Activision Blizzard: What it Means for Cloud Gaming and Xbox"
Ubisoft has obtained cloud streaming rights for Call of Duty and other current and future Activision Blizzard games for the next 15 years, as part of Microsoft's deal with Activision Blizzard. Ubisoft will have control over where these games appear on cloud gaming services, except in EU countries where users will have the freedom to stream via any cloud gaming service of their choice. Outside the EU, Ubisoft will decide which services get cloud streaming rights, including potentially licensing them back to Microsoft for Xbox Cloud Gaming. The deal also allows Activision Blizzard games to be available on Ubisoft Plus, Ubisoft's game subscription service. Microsoft has made additional cloud gaming deals with companies like Nvidia, Boosteroid, Nware, Ubitus, and commitments to Nintendo, Sony, and Valve for Call of Duty.
