Multiple Palestinian Students Shot in Vermont in Suspected Hate Crime

Three college students of Palestinian descent were shot and wounded in Burlington, Vermont, in what authorities suspect was a hate-motivated crime. The victims, two U.S. citizens and one legal resident, were attacked by a man who fired four shots without saying a word. The victims were reportedly speaking Arabic at the time of the attack. The families of the victims and advocacy groups have called for the incident to be investigated as a hate crime. The shooting occurred amidst a rise in anti-Islamic and antisemitic incidents in the United States since the recent wave of Israel-Palestinian violence.
