Fatal Consequences: Texas Man's Death Linked to Raw Oyster Consumption

A Texas man has died after consuming raw oysters infected with Vibrio Vulnificus, a seaborne bacteria that can be found in raw or undercooked shellfish. Recent research has shown that this bacteria is the dominant cause of death in humans from the marine environment. Floodwaters from Hurricane Idallia have also spread the bacteria throughout southern waters, causing concern among officials.
