Russian Black Sea Fleet Commander Killed in Ukraine's Odesa Attack

Ukraine claims to have killed Admiral Viktor Sokolov, the commander of Russia's Black Sea fleet, along with 33 other officers, in a military attack on the headquarters of the fleet in Sevastopol, Crimea. The attack was timed to coincide with a meeting of naval officials. The Russian defense ministry has not yet commented on Ukraine's claim, and it is unclear how Ukraine's military counted the casualties. Both sides have a history of exaggerating enemy losses, but given Sokolov's seniority, it is unlikely that Moscow would be able to conceal his death for long.
