China's South China Sea Map Sparks International Outrage and Concern

The Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Vietnam have rejected China's latest map that asserts its claims to sovereignty in the South China Sea. The map, which includes a U-shaped line covering about 90% of the disputed waters, has been deemed baseless and lacking legal grounds by these countries. The Philippines called on China to abide by international law and a 2016 arbitral ruling that invalidated the line. Malaysia has filed a diplomatic protest, while Taiwan emphasized its separate existence from the People's Republic of China. Vietnam also rejected China's claims based on the map, stating that they violate Vietnamese and international laws.
